- Description
- This paper discusses the potential of forty students, aged ten to twelve years, to develop their cognitive capacities known as executive function. It details the progress that was made by the students during the eight month intervention program which was designed specifically to provide opportunities for them to demonstrate these competencies in the context of self-directed learning. The program was developed using a Multiple Intelligences (MI) perspective of executive function. The findings provided evidence of a considerable improvement in the students' executive function skills as identified as an aspect of Gardner's intrapersonal intelligence domain and are discussed in some detail in this paper.
